Maharishi Ayurveda health center
The Maharishi Ayurveda Health Center (MAG) in Lelystad is a small clinic with simple but nice facilities. It has a vegetarian restaurant nearby and good appartments to rent. MAG offers the Panchakarma programme to enhance health and well being.
Knowledge of life
Panchkarma is based upon the Indian knowledge of Ayur Veda, dating back thousands of years. The Sanskrit word 'Ayus' stands for 'life', 'Veda' means 'knowledge'. Maharishi Mahesh Yogi has revived this most effective and supreme knowledge of life and combined it with modern technology and quality control.

Panchakarma
The Panchakarma programme includes a pre-treatment of about 5 to 10 days which you can do at home. For the main treatments all facilities are available at the Maharishi Ayurvedic Health Centre. Main treatment lasts 3 to 10 days. It incudes oil massages (Abhyanga), warm steambaths (Swedana) and purifying treatments (Basti). So on one treatment day you can have an Abhyanga, a Swedana and a Basti. Other treatments include among others Pizzichilli (a constant warm oil stream with massage) and Shirodhara (a cooling oilstream on the forehead).

After completing the main treatment you will be advised to take additional rest and you will be given a few general recommendations concerning your diet and daily routine. The attending Ayurvedic physician will provide you with personalized health recommendations. A number of introductory treatments are available on a day to day basis without consulting an Ayurvedic physician.
